Samsung D500 coming soon - maybe
After months of debating getting an upgrade to my
Nokia 8910, I have decided to go for the Samsung D500. Sadly like
most contract phone owners my current network, O2 do not offer a FREE
upgrade. So I have been looking at the other netwroks such as
Orange (my previous network). Orange will do the phone for FREE
on the same tariff I'm on now for the same £30 p/m. Whereas to stay with O2 I have to
fork our £134 (cheapest could find on upgrade).
I have called O2 for my PAC code to move my contract to Orange and they
have informed me to wait until the 7th Jan 2005 when they will receive
the Samsung D500 phones. They have offered to call me back on the
7th in the hope their peers will have released offer information for
upgrades.
I have agreed to wait until the 7th Jan an see what they will offer me,
hopefully they will match Oranges offer or I see know incentive to stay.
Kinda mad really, as an existing customer you are penalised, but as a new customer you get the phone for FREE. Mad!
Roll on the 7th Jan to see what happens - I will post an update then.

1gb USB drive not enough? How about Pretec's new 8gb USB drive?

Due in January 2005, Pretec wil release there i-Disk II 8GB Dual Channel Flash Drive. Pricing for the device will be around $999, but you can be sure this will come down through the year.
Pretec hope the new 8GB flash drive will be what professionals have been waiting for. The Large memory size enables transfer of “heavy” files, such as movies, music and so on between PCs. Like me I am sure you can see the huge potential on such a high capacity device.
